Photos and Journals from a Wandering Soul
I made my way fro Ohio to Rhode Island where I would be staying for about 5 days. Many thanks to Tim and Nikea for graciously offering their tiny house for me to stay in.
While in Rhode Island, I had a chance to visit with 2 of my sons, Jim and Dave in Mystic/Ledyard. We had good visits and great food. Food. Did I say that this trip was all about food? It was so good to see everyone. Since I didn't work in Mystic this past summer, I was anxious to make this trip to see everyone.
And... in addition to that. I was able to attend my high school class reunion. It was not as well attended at we would have liked, but those of us who were there had a great time.
On to New Hampshire
I had a leisurely ride to New Hampshire. I always feel so at home as soon as I cross the border from Massachusetts. It was a very relaxing few days; and again we indulged ourselves with great food. Steve, Val and I took a ride into Maine to an Amish marketplace. It was all picture perfect.
Leaving is always hard. I had seen all of my children and visited with old friends. But it was time to head home. My first stop was back in CT for one night. Then I hit the road fairly early the next morning. I drove to the North Carolina Welcome Center and Rest Stop. I slept for a few hours and then started driving again. I got to a Pilot Travel Center in Florence, South Carolina and slept there for a few hours. I was back on the road early enough so that it was not even close to dark when I reached home. I made a quick stop at the grocery store first and then headed home.
It was a great 3 weeks on the road. .
Eight awesome years on the road full time.
Another eight years traveling half-time.
